Trolls

“Look at them, mother Troll said. Look at my sons! You won’t find more beautiful trolls on this side of the moon” John Bauer 1915.

TROLLS

in Germanic mythology primarily the hideous, strong and dumb mountain giants guarding treasures. Contrary to ➚ Jötnar, the rivals of gods, trolls were enemies of mankind. They used to steal cattle from men and even gorge them whole. Later, trolls were depicted as the mischievous cave dwarves, who kidnapped infants and brought foul weather. Trollish women often took various forms and eagerly seduced young men.
